Fineline Architecture — formerly known as Wichser and Herreid is a team of architects, technical and support staff. Our goal is to provide our clients with quality design that fits their values, their needs and their budget.

We have been in business since 1991. Our lead architects, Chris Heim (formerly Wischer) and Dave Herreid, each have more than 22 years of experience.

Chris has a degree in architecture from the University of Oregon and studied graphic arts and fine arts at University of Minnesota and Drake University. She is the consultant to Architectural Supervisory Committee of the North Oaks Homeowners Association. Chris served as chair of the North Oaks Planning Commission and as a member of the City Council.

Dave studied chemistry at St. Olaf College before earning his Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Minnesota. He has served on the Lake Elmo Village Planning Commission, which is involved with the goal of maintaining Lake Elmo's small town character, open green areas and smart growth.

The firm is a member of the American Architectural Institute (AIA).

We are located in downtown Lake Elmo, Minnesota. We like the atmosphere of a small town (although we are just minutes from St. Paul and Minneapolis). The quieter and slower pace, we think, allows our creativity to flourish without big city noise and distractions. And it is just plain pretty here.

Our offices are in an old bank building (circa 1920). We remodeled the interior to reflect not only the design elements of this building’s distinctive windows but also its original use.
