This private home, built on Lake Superior's Madeline Island, was one of our most interesting projects. It was built on a difficult, non-conforming site overlooking the lake itself. Because the old foundation was so close to the lake, the house had to be built on an existing "footprint."

Among the special features of this property, in addition to its view, is an open floor, a "crow's nest" reading area, and finishing details by area boat builders who provided the labor. These elements give the home the feel of a wooden boat. It's an unusual experience just to walk around in it.
